Indian Prairie School District 204, located in Naperville and Aurora, Illinois, is seeking an outstanding educational leader at Waubonsie Valley High School who will help us achieve our mission of inspiring all students to achieve their greatest potential. The District serves over 28,000 students. This full-time Assistant Principal position starts July 1, 2024 and is a 12 month, permanent position. The Assistant Principal will perform functions to supervise students, staff and daily operations of High School in order to create a positive and safe learning environment.

1. Interview, recommend for placement, evaluate performance and establish goals for assigned classified and certified staff.
2. Hear appeals for student disciplinary or honesty policy infractions determine appeal status and communicate findings.
3. Oversee assigned educational departments acting as liaison to administration, assisting in curriculum research, development and assessment, and participating in special projects as needed.
4. Manage assigned programs such as outside business partnerships, recognition, extra-curricular or testing.
5. Hear parent or public-at-large appeals on school decisions, determine appeal status and communicate findings.
6. Direct building custodial and maintenance staff on safety, housekeeping or improvement projects.
7. Plan, implement and oversee assigned school events such as graduation or baccalaureate determining program, staffing needs and student involvement.
8. Write and oversee publication of assigned building publications such as student or staff handbook or newsletter.
9. Oversee the inventorying, purchasing and distribution of textbooks.
10. Gather, tabulate and verify statistics for state or federal reports.
11. Participate in development of master schedule and assign certified staff duties.
12. Participate in various District-wide committees or initiatives representing the building and implementing action plans.
13. Responsible to supervise High School employees. Assign and review work, train, assist employees and eliminate ordinary difficulties.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Qualified candidate must have a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with an Administrative endorsement. Knowledge of high school level management is necessary. Candidates with significant experience in educational leadership at the high school level are preferred. Four to five years of teaching and/or administrative experience is preferred.

Rate of pay: Salary is commensurate with experience.
